The year stands out for the impulse made to profitable growth and the strengthening of the strategic position of all businesses. The above, through investments of almost U.S. $2,000 million. As a result, ALFA’s average production capacity increased by more than 50%, and its revenues by 40%.

Of particular note was the incorporation by Nemak of 18 aluminum auto-parts plants, in Europe, North America, South America and Asia. Alpek completed the construction of a new PTA plant in Mexico, and another PET plant in the US. In addition, Alpek acquired two PET plants, one in Mexico, and the other in Argentina. Sigma bought a cheese producing company in the US, and incorporated two processed meat plants in Mexico. Alestra continued expanding its added value services and coverage to almost 200 cities in Mexico.
